“To win big, we have to follow the methods of spending very little time engaging with people who already agree, and devote most of our time to the harder work of helping people who do not agree come to understand who is really to blame for the pain in their lives.”

Flint Hills Breadbasket Food Drive!
Over the weekend the Steering Committee made contact with the director of the Flint Hills Breadbasket, the largest food pantry in our region, and she made it clear to us that the government shutdown has affected them drastically. Already they have seen over 100 new families looking for food and they are struggling to keep up with demand.
As November 1st looms and the cut-off for SNAP benefits comes closer, it's anticipated that the situation will become much worse.
As a result of this new and urgent need, the Steering Committee has made the last minute decision to change the social to a food drive for the Breadbasket.
This wasn't a choice we made lightly, but we felt it was in accordance with our guiding principles and, as always, theory without praxis is dead.
The November Food Drive Social will be at City Park's Shelter on Sunday, November 2nd, from 12-4 p.m.
