The Flint Hills Chapter of Democratic Socialists of America seeks to facilitate the transition to a truly democratic and socialist society, one in which the means and resources of production are democratically and socially controlled. The Chapter is organized primarily to promote social welfare.
Flint Hills Chapter of DSA was chartered in November 2023. The Chapter was born out of the efforts of two members of Renters Together MHK—a multigenerational, multiracial tenant union in Manhattan, KS that organizes for safe, accessible, secure, and truly affordable housing. The Chapter has steadily grown over the last two years and is expanding its capacity to foster meaningful dialogue, education, and action.
The Democratic Socialists of America is the largest socialist organization in the United States, with over 80,000 members and chapters in all 50 states. The DSA believes that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few.
The DSA is a political and activist organization, not a party; through campus and community-based chapters, DSA members use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.
